ARTIST FEATURE
I am a lover of photography, people, nature, and just life. This came from my godmother, who, when I first met her, had this camera and was all excited about taking pictures of my siblings and me. I purchased my first camera, which was a small Instamatic that had film and a bulb that sat on top of the camera. It was good for 4 uses. I would mail my pictures off to Kodak and wait patiently for their return.
They were not always the greatest, but it gave me satisfaction knowing I had created a memory. Ever since the early 1970’s, I have always called myself the person who would record the memories of family history. I have so many pictures put away in boxes and albums that I occasionally share with my family. My love for photography has been people mostly, until a few years ago when I started taking pictures of nature and things that just look great to me. I stopped for many days to grab a picture of a sunset or sunrise, an eclipse, rain, fog, animals, etc.
I decided that because I have captured so many photos, I should share them. I have traveled through Europe and Asia, plan to explore the Caribbean and other places, and want to share my experiences with everyone. I believe “A picture can take you to many places,” and I want others to see even if they cannot get there.
Today I have graduated from the instamatic to the digital Nikon. I have owned so many cameras throughout my life and enjoyed every brand from Kodak, Canon, Vivitar, Pentax, Son and Polaroid. These brands have given me so much joy and even the point and shoot I still occasionally use but I love my DSLRs or if I can find a camera with film I would try it out again. I love the mysterious timing behind the film cameras. Thank You for checking out my work.
